Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee Gets 24 New Episodes

Sony has announced that Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, a web series starring Jerry Seinfeld, is getting 24 new episodes. New episodes are set to start production shortly and to begin airing later this spring.
The original ten episode series was released between July and September 2012. It featured Seinfeld's conversations with comedians including Ricky Gervais, Michael Richards, Alec Baldwin and Larry David. The series can be watched on Netflix.
Seinfeld said in a statement, "This series was basically a silly, fun experiment in making a talk show where the host only talks to people when he wants to. And only while engaging in a meaningless activity. I don't know if the idea was created by all the newly available technology to do it or vice versa. It certainly wouldn't have been possible just a couple of years earlier. But I loved the freedom of form and just shooting it direct to the audience. My old friends at Sony took care of every possible issue and just made it all a pleasure. The response was great without us doing any ads or promotion and so we're going to keep going. I like this new world."
There are now six seasons of the series available on Netflix. The most recent is 2019: Freshly Brewed. Updated 9-1-2020
